SESOC Higher Qualification & Improved Practice

Discussion Paper

Events of recent years have placed the structural engineering profession in the spotlight to an extent seldom seen in New Zealand. While there have been no hard conclusions drawn, there has been significant disquiet with regard to engineering practice and competence, from both outside the profession and within. The attached document SESOC Higher Qualification Discussion Document _Final Rev1 (pdf) provides a suggested framework for moving forward and all SESOC members should have their say. You are also referred to the SESOC President’s introductory letter SESOC Higher Qualification _HJH foreword_Rev1 (3). (.pdf)
