DESCRIPTION:Join us on November 6\, 2023 at the Ellerslie Event Centre Auckland for a day conference on Protecting structures from fire. \nThe speakers at this conference are Hamish Denize & Paul Horne of Beca\, Tess Beetham of Aurecon\, Andy Buchanan of PTL NZ and Professor Charles Clifton of the University of Auckland\, Gath Moran of Carbolin\, Alex Kokorin of Fire TS Laboratory\, Frank Kang of Winston Wallboards Ltd\, René Hill of Southern QA Ltd and Raed El Sarraf of WSP. \nHosted by Stewart Hobbs of Proconsult \nFire engineering is often seen as a dark art\, sometimes resulting in strange requirements. This stems from deficient consulting from fire engineers and from misunderstandings of the objectives and scope of fire engineering. This conference will: \n\nexplain the basics of Fire Engineering 101 around the scope\, objectives and compliance pathways/documents.\ncover the role and responsibilities of the structural engineer with respect to design\, coordination and documentation to meet the requirements of the fire report.
