10 Tips for Better Designs of Low-Rise Structures (aka Low-Rise Learnings) – New Plymouth
26 September 2022 12:30 pm 6:00 pm
Join our SESOC President Michelle Grand and her co-speaker Gordon Hughes as they present the 10 Tips for Better Designs of Low-Rise Structures (aka Low-Rise Learnings)
The seminar will provide ten tips for the better design of low- rise structures, with a focus on commercial buildings.
Low- rise structures are one of the most common types of designed buildings in New Zealand. There have been multiple recent cases of structural designs not meeting requirements.
This seminar aims to provide practical tips to structural engineers operating in this space.
At the end of the seminar, there will be a SESOC Presidents reception, where attendees can join us for drinks and a catch-up.
This seminar will be from 1:00pm – 5:00 pm (registration starts at 12:30pm)
A light refreshment for afternoon tea will be served. Food and drinks will be offered during the President’s reception between 5:00 – 6:00 pm
This seminar is being offered at a reduced rate for SESOC members to encourage as many members as possible who work in this space to attend, particularly emerging engineers, those operating in smaller practices, or larger firms able to send more staff. It is also conducted by the SESOC President in lieu of a president’s roadshow.
