The SESOC Emerging Structural Engineers network is excited to advertise The Integrated Design Series, a series of presentations from disciplines that structural engineers regularly collaborate with in the design process. The second of these presentations in Auckland will be by Bruce Curtain, Head of Architecture at WSP on ‘the relationship between the architect and the engineer’.
In this presentation Bruce will present a case study – City Hall, the iconic headquarters for the Mayor of London and Greater London Authority. Designed by Foster + Partners and Arup the combined team utilised leading edge design and construction techniques that integrate architecture, structure and services to create a truly unique building. Bruce was an architect on this project and will explore his relationship with the structural engineers and wider project team to realise this geometrically complex hall into built form.
There will be an opportunity for networking from 5:30pm, the presentation will start at 6:00pm, followed by drinks and pizza.
