Join us in October 2023 as SESOC and New Zealand Geotechnical Society collaborate in presenting a seminar on Seismic Soil-Structure Interaction: Part 1 – Shallow Foundations

Soil-foundation-structure interaction (SFSI) is present on all soil sites and can play a significant role in the seismic performance of a building.

Join our speakers Stuart Oliver and Maxim Millen as they cover the benefits and drawbacks of nonlinear SFSI mechanisms. The seminar will focus on the inclusion of SFSI within the NZ Seismic Assessment Guidelines procedure. They will also cover the proposed changes for NZS1170.5 for rocking foundations.

This seminar is suitable for engineers at all experience levels, especially Structural engineers designing low, mid and high-rise buildings and Geotechnical engineers involved in designing shallow foundations.
