Join us this coming March for the seminar on Cold-Formed Steel Design. Prof James Lim of the University of Waikato and Dr Pouya Pouladi of Mott MacDonald will present a comprehensive theoretical background on designing cold-formed steel members using both the effective width method and the direct strength method, as per AS/NZS 4600, and explore the practical applications of cold-formed Steel.
Cold-formed steel represents one of the most innovative advancements in steel construction and is widely used in portal frames, residential housing, and medium-rise buildings.
This seminar will also cover connection designs and their concepts, especially in portal frame and building designs, providing valuable insights for practising engineers.
