if you have a doubly reinforced cast in situ lift shaft with only 2 sides attach to floors. how would you consider the restraint condition of other 2 sides which are not attached to floors?( hn =?). It is simple to just assume hn = hw but isn’t it too conservative? if we can take the advantage of perpendicular walls as restraints? is there any provision to limit the distance between restraints?
