Slab on Grade – Replacement (Industrial Building)
Hi, I have a 38m x 20m floor slab that’s been deteriorated to a point where it needs to be replaced, also the clients preference. I have the following options for the client but not sure about the cost implications:
- 1. Conventional slab replacement
- 2. Fibreglass with 3d wires (dramix)
- 3. Post-tentioned slab
The load on the floor are :
- Forklifts 2.5T max.
- pallets with 3000kg weights
- Q 4kPa
Would appreciate some advise on what the most cost efficient and effective solution would be.
Regards
DP
I would look at the original slab first and investigate the reasons not to be in service considering the slab, subsoil condition and the usage.
For the values you mentioned it falls under the light industrial floor which can be anything, and in my opinion, the most cost efficient is the conventional RC slab on grade.
Thanks Khaled, appreciate your suggestion.
